Valued cannabis strains from Thailand and Afghanistan with Sativa and Indica genotypes represent the opposite poles of the spectrum of psychoactive effects. It took many years to achieve the perfect balance between pure Afghan Indica and the same genetically untouched Thai Sativa, even according to the usually patient cannabis growers. The unpredictable nature of the first experimental crosses of Thai-Afghan varieties mentioned in the early editions of the seed catalogs caused them a lot of trouble for growers. Finding the perfect combination of source plants required research on generations of thousands of seedlings, including selection and careful elimination. It wasn't until 1995 that two unique plants that gave hope of getting the perfect blend of indica and sativa were possible.
