This full, subtropical sativa gets its name from the South African port of Durban and has for centuries been the staple ingredient of the local hashish called dagga, which is produced from plants grown in the surrounding hills and plains. Its genotype provides the qualities loved by local growers, such as yield and stability, and a uniform flowering pattern. Hundreds of kilos of dark, distinctive sativa buds are produced annually across the region, and as Durban is also Africa's busiest port, a large proportion of the annual harvest goes to smokers on all continents. Thanks to this, the flagship cannabis strain from this area has also become by far the best known African cannabis strain.
